The Blue Boat House and Sunset at Cottesloe

The end of a long day out, from the Blue Boat House on the river to sunset at Cottesloe Beach, and an evening with old college friends.

The sun low over the Indian Ocean, lighting up the sky and the sea in gold, with surf rolling in towards dunes and a beach path in the foreground.

After the Swan Valley, our friend drove us back towards the city and along the river.

A wide, wind-ruffled river beside a grassy verge and a cycle path, with a low line of trees on the far shore, seen from a moving car.
Along the river.

The Blue Boat House

Our first stop was the Blue Boat House, the little blue boatshed standing in the water on its own.

Sunset at Cottesloe

Cottesloe Beach was our final stop of the day. We reached it just as the light was turning golden.

Tall Norfolk pines in low evening sun casting long shadows across a lawn, with a dark green “Town of Cottesloe” sign among them.

We stayed for the sunset.

Afterwards, our friend drove us all back. It had been a long and full day, from the wildlife at Whiteman Park, through the Swan Valley, to the sunset over the ocean.

An evening with old friends

I think it was the following evening, 7 April, that I went to meet some old friends from college who were living around Fremantle. I travelled there and back by Uber.

We spent the time reminiscing about our college days.

There are no photographs from that evening.
