Part 4 of 8Tagging along to London

Windsor with my son

A bus out to Windsor, a day at the castle and by the river, just the two of us.

A wide quadrangle of striped lawn surrounded by long stone castle buildings with battlemented towers, under a grey cloudy sky.

On 29 April, my son and I took the bus to Windsor. By then, I was confident on the buses, with my son’s help.

Windsor Castle

We went into Windsor Castle. As I remember, photography was restricted inside, which is why most of my pictures are of the outside. I cannot recall the individual rooms clearly.

Red-brick and stone rooftops of Windsor town spread out below the castle, with green countryside beyond under grey cloud.

The day itself

What I remember most is spending the day with my son: exploring, travelling and eating together.

A boy in a blue hooded jacket, seen from behind, standing on the riverside path by the Thames, with swans on the water and buildings on the far bank.
